Dragging ourselves away from the racing!
After day 2 at Santa Pod, we have a 2 and half or 3 hour drive to the Hardwick Hotel, Stonehouse
Great racing until the rain come back at 2pm.
Never mind - got to Margaret's earlier for a lovely dinner.

My first experience of drag racing
A full day at Santa Pod Raceway
Update: we nearly didn't get to see any!
We arrived just as the rain did and spent the first hour sitting in the car. We then walked about exploring and watched a monster trucks show, which could go on even though it was wet:
Finally got to see drag racing just before 7 and it was worth the wait

Now the journey south!
150 miles from our first hotel to the second one:
Stopped off at a military museum, and an antiques emporium with a tearoom
Then visited a pub Brian was last at more than 50 years ago!

A day in York

Later in the day, we head to York, for our first hotel stay :

Out for an Indian meal tonight
then listening to some "nice" live music in the Hole in the Wall pub - two guitarists singing songs of the 60s and 70s.

D day minus One!
Fiona's last day at work, and Sammy's holiday starts today!
Brian will be driving Sammy and his suitcase in the van to meet Caroline at Crianlarich:

10.30 pm and a very quiet house with no hairy dog lying at my feet! Clothes laid out and soon to be packed away into a suitcase.
